Groundbreaking for CarNu Detailing & AutoTrim Design, GMC Cadillac work begins

In April 2013, The Rimrock Auto Group broke ground for its expanding Rimrock GMC Cadillac dealership on the West End of Billings, MT. This month, the groundbreaking trend is continuing! Starting early in June 2013, the old Rimrock Auto Outlet (www.rimrockautooutlet.com) building at 2951 King Ave West was demolished; in its place will come a brand new state-of-the-art building for CarNu Detailing and AutoTrim Design (www.autotrimbillings.com). The Rimrock Auto Outlet will continue to offer economical vehicles at great prices for customers for the foreseeable future out of its parent store, Rimrock GMC Cadillac.

April 24, 2013: BILLINGS, MT – General Motors Corporation announced today the ground breaking of their newest facility – a new Rimrock GMC Cadillac store – that will be built next to Volkswagen Billings on the corner of Shiloh and King Avenue West at 840 South Shiloh Road in Billings West End.A special ground breaking ceremony will take place at the new site promptly at 11:00 am on Wednesday April 24th, 2013, hosted by owners John & Ann Soares, Steve & Susan Zabawa and Rimrock GMC Cadillac General Manager, Tony Woolery.

A distinguished list of state and community leaders have accepted invitations to the event including: City of Billings Mayor Tom Hanel; John Ostlund, Yellowstone County Commissioner; Steve Arveschoug, Executive Director of the Big Sky Economic Development Council; Greg Kohn, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Billings Chamber of Commerce; Wayne Nelson and Scott Sanders from Stockman Bank construction financing team; Bruce Davis and Ghram Debes, from the Bank of Montreal (BMO) inventory financing team; Bill DuBeau and Jim Baker from A&E Architects, as well as Jerry Jones from Jones Construction, the building’s general contractor.General Motors Corporation will be represented by Denver Region Sales and Service Manager for Buick-GMC Division, Rory Gambrell.

“Montana IS truck country and General Motors has been pleased with our representation of the GMC and Cadillac lines,” stated Mr. Zabawa, “They are not only supporting us financially in this expansion but have also pledged additional inventory in recognition of Billings as a major regional automotive shopping hub.”With the continued expansion of Billings’ west side, the new Rimrock GMC Cadillac dealership will be in the heart of that growth directly across from Shiloh Crossing and the new Scheel’s destination store – as well as being located on the west end entry point to King Avenue’s regionally renown “Auto Row”.

The ground breaking will be the centerpiece of an “earth-shaking” 4 day 775 vehicle sales event to showcase the retail future of over 1000 feet of Shiloh and King Avenue front footage.

GMC was the first franchise the Rimrock Auto Group acquired 20 years ago. They have been in the same building for 2 decades at 2540 Phyllis separated from their service department half a block away. “We told our architects that the sales and service environments for modern dealerships now need to be integrated. Customers like to be more involved in the service process as well as being in touch with evolving automotive technology.” added Mr. Soares, “Our new facility will showcase the future of automobile retailing. GMC’s professional grade brand identity and Cadillac’s luxury identity will also be a centerpiece of this new sales and service center.”

Rimrock GMC Cadillac will continue to service and sell new and used vehicles out of their existing facility just off 24th St across from Rimrock Mall until the new dealership is opened approximately December 2013.

Rimrock helps Needy Children this Holiday Season!

Just in time for Christmas, Computers 4 Kids partnered with Rimrock GMC Cadillac for the 2nd Annual C4K Computer-Give-Away and Recycling Event! This charitable event was at 2540 Phyllis Lane, in Billings, on December 22th from 11:00am until 4:00pm.

This year’s C4K give-away was even more exciting – thanks to a partnership with Rimrock GMC Cadillac at the 2540 Phyllis Lane location. Rimrock is excited to co-sponsor the event and pay the costs of recycling old monitors and other equipment donated by the public during the event. Not only is Rimrock GMC Cadillac proud to give new life to old equipment and provide technology to needy young Montanans, but because Computers 4 Kids is licensed with the State of Montana for electronic recycling, we can all help reduce the amount of chemicals and materials that would otherwise unproductively find their way into a landfill.

Do you have a computer lying around?

Don’t throw it away; donate it to a good cause! Everyone is encouraged to recycle their old computer so Computer 4 Kids can recondition the deductible donations with new hardware and appropriate software. We accept virtually any and every used computer for donation (broken or working). It will be reconditioned and brought back to working order (or responsibly recycled if it can’t be reconditioned). It’s an excellent way to help needy kids in our community receive computers, monitors and peripherals easily and conveniently.

It is a win-win situation for everyone!

Volkswagen Billings is Open for Business!

With much fanfare and celebration, Volkswagen Billings opened to the public! The state-of-the-art dealership opened with a two-story glass showroom in May, at King and Shiloh Road, on the west end of Billings. On June 15th, the grand opening celebration featured the Midlife Chryslers and food by Tiny’s Tavern, and drew several couple hundred people.

“The first month, we’re not only profitable, but we sold a lot more new cars than we expected to,” said Steve Zabawa, who owns Rimrock Auto Group with John Soares Jr.

With the mild weather that Montana has been receiving this winter, work on the new Volkswagen of Billings store has been going very well for Rimrock Auto Group. If you’ve driven by our up-and-coming location on the south-west corner of Shilo and King Ave. you may have noticed that this state-of-the-art new dealership is now completely framed up, inside and out. The final touches are being put on the building prior to interior detailing. Asphalt for the parking lot is down as well.

Billings Volkswagen Breaks Ground

Billings Volkswagen breaks ground.

KTVQ.com | The Rimrock Auto Group held a groundbreaking ceremony on their new Volkswagen dealership.

The ceremony took place just west of the intersection of Shiloh Road and King Avenue, which is where the new dealership will be located.

Various elected officials were on hand and spoke at the ceremony, including the mayor of Billings, Tom Hanel, Montana state senator Jeff Essman, state representative Ken Peterson, and Yellowstone County Commissioner John Ostlund.

Co-owner of the Rimrock Auto Group, Steve Zabawa, emceed the groundbreaking.

Zabawa also spoke at the groundbreaking noting the economic boost the dealership will bring to Billings in the form of 50 new jobs and an annual $30 million in revenue.

Zabawa says Volkswagen has spent $5 billion in the past three years developing an American market base -and will be a force to reckon with when it comes to sales in coming years.

The dealership will take up roughly 2.6 acres of the Shiloh Crossing area-but Zabawa says people can expect more development from Rimrock Auto Group and other large Billings businesses .

The vision for the future Volkswagen of Billings

“St. V’s owns across the street, First Interstate Bank, and next to Kohl’s Scheels is going over there,” said Zabawa. “And we’re looking to expand and put our other franchises up here on this same corner. We have 11 acres tied up. And the Volkswagen is just the very beginning of what the Rimrock Auto Group plans to do for this corner.”

Scheels All-Sports has not announced a move to Shiloh corner from their current Rimrock Mall location.

However, the company is looking to expand to a larger space in Billings and they have expressed interest in the Shiloh Crossing, as well as several other locations.
